Lions Clubs are part of community life, in the cities and in the country. Clubs are easily identified by their distinctive Logo, the trademark of our International Association, and the 'We Serve'; motto.
Lions Australia is part of an international association, filled with people who are joined by the common desire to make their communities better, by using their creativity, enthusiasm and energy.
Membership is open to all people of the community in good standing.
Every Lions Club is a little different. Each has its own mix of activities and meetings.
Manjimup Lions Club has quite a lot of activities - all are fun and friendly. Some are fundraising, some are commutity support. Collecting and raffling fire wood, Jazz in the Jarrah, Children's Peace Poster contest, Lions Train (driving it is fun+++), Garage Sales, Quiz nights and Social nights, Shearing Weekend ( come and be a roustabout), and supporting individuals who need a little help.
Meetings are the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 7pm in the Lions Clubrooms in Rae Park in Manjimup. Meeting attendance is not compulsory - we believe that family commitments come first, work second and Lions third. Supper is served at these meetings at a cost of $5 per person. The aim is for these meetings to be enjoyable, friendly and productive.
We have men and women members and all choose their own level of involvement. Our annual membership fee is currently $100, so if you are interested, talk to a local lion.
The international motto of 'We Serve' is applied within our Club, but we take it a little further.
