A world-first collaboration between the premier percussion groups of Australia and Korea,earth cry brings together the traditional and contemporary music of both cultures to create a dark, vibrant and transformative concert experience.
Synergy Percussion is Australia’s oldest and most esteemed percussive ensemble and since 2011 has been exchanging ideas and experiences with Noreum Machi, an exquisite ensemble exploring the transfixing world of shamanic traditional Korean drumming.

Together they have created earth cry, a performance drawing on both the tradition of Mudang Kut and contemporary western percussive practice. Performers from each group will here unite as a single cohesive ensemble to present a concert of breathtaking scale and impact performed amidst a vivid environment of moving image.
