From a producer's perspective, StageCenta is easy to use, provides the flexibility I need and is exceptionally great value.

I wouldn't sell my tickets with any other agency.

StageCenta is a game-changer for managing production ticketing! The all-inclusive ticket booking and management system is so organised, intuitive, user-friendly and cost effective not just for me but for my clients purchasing tickets. I love the 24hr availability which allows me to manage bookings for my productions when it suits me.

The customer service is second to none. Richard and the team are professional, competent and most importantly, available.

Engaging StageCenta for my ticketing needs saves me hours upon hours and allows me to focus on the fun creative stuff (preparing my production) rather than the boring stressful admin stuff!

StageCenta offers a blue-ribbon service I have been using StageCenta since its inception and I can't imagine staging a production without it. I can't recommend StageCenta enough.

Tim Hansen Tim Hansen

Tim Hansen is a composer, music director and songwriter known for blending cabaret and theatrical idioms with contemporary concert music. His music is an expression of his lifelong fascination with storytelling, be they grim fairy tales, ancient myths, or the simple, domestic everyday stories of the lives of those around him. His work draws from a dark but gleeful palette inspired by sources as diverse as Weimar cabaret, circus music, 20th century modernism, music theatre and post-minimalism.

An enthusiastic and charismatic educator, Tim has created two online lessons for TED on music. He is currently composer in residence at Santa Sabina College and is engaged with Musica Viva as part of the 'Musician in the Classroom' program. He is also a major contributor to Soundfly, a US-based website filled with lessons and dedicated to the idea that anyone can be a musician.

Tim is a co-founding director of the W4 New Music collective based in New York, along with his co-directors Matt Frey, Molly Herron and Ruben Naeff. The collective combines the individual voices of each composer and other artists to create cohesive programs of new music, and has included an oratorio based on Moby Dick performed by Contemporaneous and presented by New York's MATA festival; and Cellophilia, which featured contemporary works entirely for 'cello and which was remounted as part of Fast Forward Austin festival in Austin Texas.

Residency credits include being a composition fellow at the Bang on a Can Summer Institute, the Norfolk Contemporary Music Festival and twice artist-in-residence at Hill End. In addition to being short listed for the APRA Professional Development award in 2010 and 2013, Tim has been awarded the Frank Ponton Memorial Prize, the Darwin International Guitar Festival Composition Prize and an ArtStart Grant from the Australia Council for the Arts. He also co-founded the ExhAust Australian music ensemble in New York, a group dedicated to presenting the work of Australian artists in New York City.

Tim has worked extensively with music ensembles, cabaret groups and theatre companies around Australia and in the USA such as Everyman Theatre, Synergy Percussion, Contemporaneous, JACK quartet, Cadillac Moon Ensemble, and TRANSIT ensemble. He also regularly works with young people in the arts, and has worked with Canberra Youth Theatre, Australian Theatre for Young People and Shopfront Youth Theatre in Australia and the Lucy Moses School, Camp Broadway and The New Group in New York.

Tim is also a total nerd and would spend his life as a student if he could. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Theatre & Media)(Honours) from Charles Sturt University in Bathurst, a Bachelor of Music (Composition) from the Australian National University in Canberra, and a Master of Music Theory and Composition from New York University. His teachers include Michael Gordon, Julia Wolfe, Martin Bresnick, Lisa Moore, David Lang, Jim Cotter, Larry Sitsky and Toby Twining.

Bachs Complete Vocal Motets

Bach Akademie Australia opens its stellar 2026 program with J.S. Bach’s Complete Vocal Motets, a colossal, five-city tour in collaboration with Australia’s premier vocal ensemble, The Song Company andguest artist, renowned Dutch singer Iris Korfker, from Thursday 5th February to Friday 13th February.

Following the runaway success of Bach Akademie Australia’s debut, national tour The Countertenor in 2025, Australia’s leading Baroque ensemble presents seven of J.S. Bach’s divinely beautiful vocal motets alongside two works of contemporary genius by Australian composer Sandra Milliken and Scotsman Sir James MacMillan, with performances at St John’s Southgate, Melbourne (February 5th), Wollongong Art Gallery (February 6th), Mosman Art Gallery (February 8th), St James Church, Sydney (February 12th) and Bowral Memorial Hall (February 13th).

Heralded as “some of the most beautiful pieces of choral music produced over the past centuries” (Bach Vereniging), J.S. Bach’s motets represent the highest art of vocal writing achieved in the Baroque period. The surviving motets were the only vocal works in Bach’s canon to remain in constant performance after the composer’s death, until the Bach revival of the early 19th century. Featuring four to eight choral voices in an exceptional display of virtuosity and dexterity, the motets explore themes of comfort, resurrection and joy, and were intended for use in funerals and celebrations.

The Song Company is Australia’s leading professional vocal ensemble, renowned for its innovative a cappella performances spanning from early music and classical repertoire to cutting-edge contemporary work. Based in Sydney, the ensemble has performed at major festivals and venues across Australia, including the Sydney Opera House, Melbourne Recital Centre, Adelaide Festival, Canberra International Music Festival, and regional centres nationwide, as well as internationally throughout Europe, the UK, and Asia.

Joining Bach Akademie Australia and The Song Company on stage is special guest artist, Dutch soprano and alto Iris Korfker. Originally from the Netherlands, Korfker has worked as a choral, solo and operatic vocalist throughout the UK for over 20 years, performing in the UK’s finest venues, from the Palace of Versailles and Carnegie Hall to St Martin-in-the-Fields. In 2023, Korfker had the distinct honour of singing at the Coronation of King Charles III at Westminster Abbey.

Also featured in the program is Australian contemporary composer Sandra Milliken’sHerr Jesus Christus’, a thought-provoking musical tribute to WWII German Lutheran pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and Scottish composer and conductor Sir James MacMillian’s ‘O Radiant Dawn’. Originally written for Advent, MacMillian’s work is a transcendent choral piece that “captures the essence of sacred music” (JW Pepper).

Deeply spiritual and emotionally resonant, this incredible program of untamed Baroque splendour is not to be missed.
