Catherine Alcorn is a multi award-winning artist, producer, Artistic Director and one of the Globe's most in-demand entertainers, renowned for her powerhouse vocals and razor sharp wit.
Hailed as ‘a must see!’ (L.A. Times), ‘absolutely hilarious’ (Time Out) and 'masterful' (Courier Mail), Catherine combines her wickedly inviting sense of humour and dynamic voice, exhilarating audiences wherever she goes.
Catherine has headlined some of the world’s most celebrated festivals including Sydney Festival, Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Perth Fringe, Festival of Voices and was invited to represent Noosa Long Weekend’s as their inaugural Ambassador for two consecutive years, breaking all box office records.
Internationally, Catherine has performed across the USA including New York, Los Angeles, Palm Springs and in Hong Kong with the Adelaide Cabaret Festival Roadshow.
She EmCee'd for some of the world’s biggest brands including TEDx, Apple, Mercedes Benz, Optus, Grant Burge, Special Olympics Australia, Epilepsy Australia, Clubs NSW, the SGLBA and Sydney Cabaret Competition.
Catherine’s theatre credits include her Sydney Theatre Award nominated cabaret Cathartic, the Australian premiere of off-Broadway cult hit 5 Lesbians Eating A Quiche, the award-winning cabaret Go Your Own Way: The Story of Christine McVie and Glen Street Theatre’s Cabaret In The Glen Festival in the role as Artistic Director.
A passionate fundraiser, Catherine has produced multiple campaigns, most notably alongside Trevor Ashley and George Youakim in 2016 with From Sydney With Love at Sydney Town Hall raising over $70,000 for the victims and families of the heartbreaking Orlando shootings. In 2012 Catherine produced Floodlight raising over $20,000 for the victims of the devastating QLD floods.
In 2018 Catherine made her triumphant USA and Sydney Opera House debut in her most famous role as The Divine Miss Bette, her smash hit show channelling Bette Midler, winning her the Best Cabaret Production in the 2018 Broadway World Awards.
2019 saw Catherine finally collaborate with long time friend and colleague Phil Scott, premiering their cabaret '30 Something' at Sydney's prestigious Hayes Theatre Co. Their debut season was a sellout.
2020 was - well, you know. In response to COVID-19, Catherine and a team of Sydney producers, launched The Reservoir Room, a virtual venue from Paddington Town Hall for a five week season, live streaming a brand new variety show Friday Night Live (directed by Ted Robinson and co-hosted with Rodger Corser) and Saturday evening cabaret and live music hours. This project kept over 45 of Sydney’s live entertainment industry workers employed.
Friday Night Live, now FNL…Alive & Unlocked!, is currently in pre production and will makes its Australian premiere this year.
Catherine has just returned from her debut season of Paul + Catherine SING TOGETHER at the 2021 Adelaide Fringe Festival receiving 5 star reviews and winning Best Cabaret Show in the Weekly Fringe Awards.
