Artistic Director of QMT, Deian has been Production Director of a variety of works from Gilbert and Sullivan to shows from Broadway and the West End. She also has designed and made costumes for a variety of shows; and taken leading administrative rôles in the Company.

On stage she has been known for her soubrette roles, including her favourite Eliza Doolittle in QMT’s inaugural production My Fair Lady. She has also been seen as Jill-all-Alone (Merrie England), Evangeline Harcourt (Anything Goes), Ruth (The Pirates of Penzance), Manon in Bitter Sweet; the glamorous Lucille Early in No No, Nanette! and The Duchess of Plaza Toro (The Gondoliers).

A Music Teacher, she has directed, designed and choreographed numerous shows with Primary School casts. She is qualified in Arts (BA) from the University of Queensland, in Education (Dip Teach) from USQ; and in Music (AACM) from the Australian College of Music. 

She has been honoured for her efforts on behalf of the Queensland Musical Theatre by being granted Life Membership of the Association.
