From a producer's perspective, StageCenta is easy to use, provides the flexibility I need and is exceptionally great value.

Featured  performer
Eliza Shephard Eliza Shepherd

Eliza has been involved in the performing arts for 17 years, both onstage and off.

Trained in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, pole dancing, modern, belly dancing, lyrical, and contemporary, Eliza was thrilled to be invited to choreograph Canberra Philharmonic Society’s production of Evita.

An accomplished performer on stage, Eliza has been seen in productions such as Supa Productions’ Footloose and Eurobeat, ANU Interhall Productions’ Cats and Spamalot, Queanbeyan City Council’s Hair, and Everyman Theatre’s Rent, just to name a few.

Eliza has been nominated for two CAT Awards, one for Best Youth Actress in a School or Youth Play for her role as Marie in Woyzeck, presented by Canberra Grammar School, and has recently won a CAT Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of the character Patsy in Spamalot.

Eliza is also know to be a frequent member of musical theatre orchestras, including Phoenix Players’ How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Canberra Philharmonic Society’s Hairspray and Cabaret, and Supa Productions’ Witches of Eastwick. Eliza is also participating in the orchestra for Evita, which has been an eye-opening experience combining the worlds of music and dance within the one show.

In her spare time, Eliza is a flute teacher around Canberra, as well as running other drama courses and musical activities for students aged 5 to 70. She has a passion for teaching and education, and loves the fact that she was given the opportunity to meld these passions with choreography for Evita.

Agapi & Other Kinds of Love

Agapi & Other Kinds of Love

The Ancient Greek types of love are revealed via timeless love stories told in rap and spoken word with live musicians.

Based on Plato's The Symposium, Agapi & Other Kinds of Love begins with Socrates telling a banquet of friends everything he learned from a mysterious lover named: Diotima. The gods then take the audience on a journey - collapsing time and space to arrive in modern day Athens, where the two reincarnations of the Ancient lovers fall in love (again) in the midst of a riot.

Luka Lesson's reputation as one of Australia's best storytellers shines as he then takes us on a journey through the kinds of love: Eros, Filia, Filoxenia, Philautia, Storgi, Pragma and the ultimate: Agapi. Self-love, erotic love, familial love and more all collide with statues of Aphrodite, Molotov cocktails and the Parthenon's steps. Equal parts rap concert, poetic musical & classical history lesson, Agapi & Other Kinds of Love shows us how love prevails despite the trials and tribulations of the ages.
