The South Canberra Wind Orchestra (SCWO) is celebrating 30 years of providing an engaging and relaxed place for the community to come together and play music. Formerly known as the South Canberra Youth Wind Orchestra, the band began in 1994 as a place for young musicians to continue to play music after leaving their high school band. Since then the small community group has grown, performing at local fetes, Floriade, the National Eisteddfod and even going on local and international tours! Under the baton of musical director Kit Sharman, SCWO is thrilled to be pulling out repertoire from some of our earliest days, all the way through to some of our newest pieces! The concert will be in 2 acts, with a brief intermission for a cuppa and afternoon tea.
