Romeo and Juliet
HILLBILLY PRODUCTIONS PTY LTD presents
Romeo and Juliet

17 Oct 2014 to 19 Oct 2014

One of William Shakespeare's best known and most celebrated works, Romeo and Juliet is the timeless tale of a young couple who value their love for each other above all else, and make the ultimate sacrifice for what they believe in.

In a bold new take on the classic tale, Hillbilly Productions has moved the location of the story, taking the characters and rich verse of the Bard and placed them in a vibrant, barren plain of the African Savannah.

With bold and primal tones brought squarely to the surface, the war between the Montagues and Capulets has never been more real or intense. Combining contemporary costume, dance, tribal music and Shakespeare's iconic text, this riveting production will impress theatreaudiences young and old alike.
