When Love costs!!

Baron Zeta is hosting a party where he is afraid that one of the guests, Hanna Glawari, widow of the wealthiest man in Pontevedro, is to marry a foreigner therefore removing her inherited wealth and bankrupting the tiny country.

This operetta has enjoyed extraordinary international success since its 1905 premiere in Vienna and continues to be frequently revived and recorded.

First presented by Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Victoria in 2004 and again in 2008, Director and Choreographer Robert Ray will bring this Franz Lehár classic back to life at the Alexander Theatre Monash University Clayton in our 80th year.
