28 Apr 2021 to 8 May 2021

* Winner of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize – Nominated for five Tony Awards * How do you cope as a family with the loss of a toddler? An empathetic look at grief, told with honesty and wit.

Presented by:

Joh Hartog Productions

Rabbit Hole begins eight months after the unimaginable loss of Becca and Howie’s 4 year old toddler, Danny.

His parents have been struggling to keep it all together. He by joining a self-help group, she by removing traces of Danny in the house to stop being continually confronted by his absence.

Both are in different spaces.

Becca’s sister and mother do what they can to help them to cope with their grief, but they have issues of their own.

While the play deals with some bleak issues, it is also a humorous look at family life in which we can recognise ourselves.  To quote Gail Morrison (Nat in the play): ‘I love the role because it’s a carbon copy of me and my daughters of a Saturday afternoon with a couple of glasses of wine!’

“In … an intimate setting the audience is gifted with a journey that touches on nearly all the
fundamental yearning of loss, gain, and how we humans mourn.  It is what theatre goers thrive for; a
chance to feel, empathize and contemplate the limits of a person facing unfair circumstances.”
