Henry Hailsham-Brown’s second wife Clarissa is adept at spinning tales of adventure. When she is asked why she makes up these stories she says no-one believes her when she tells the truth, but when a murder takes place in her drawing room, she comes to learn that the facts are much more exciting than fiction. Desperate to dispose of the body before her husband arrives home with an important foreign diplomat, she enlists the help of her guests. Everything seems to be going according to plan until the police arrive.
