Based on the original novel by Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy author Douglas Adams, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency was once described by Adams himself as "a thumping good detective-ghost-horror-whodunnit-time travel-romantic-musical-comedy-epic".
