Biography

Peter Coleman-Wright AO has enjoyed a long and highly successful career. He has sung over 75 roles all over the world, including Don Giovanni, Il Conte, Gulgilemo, Don Alfonso, Papageno, Macbeth, Posa, Germont, Michele, Ping, Sharpless, Marcello, Scarpia, Donner, Gunther, Beckmesser, Wolfram, Pizzaro, Figaro, Dandini, Don Alvaro, Billy Budd, Balstrode, Owen Wingrove, Demetrius, Sid, and The Traveller among many others.

Peter has had long associations with the Royal Opera Covent Garden, English National Opera, Welsh National, Glyndebourne Festival and Touring, La Monnaie, Bastille, Munich, La Scala, La Fenice, Warsaw, Geneva, Aix-en Provence, Netherlands, Bordeaux , Kammer Oper- Wien and Opera Australia.

In America Peter has performed at the Metropolitan Opera New York ( Falke, Fieramosca, Belcore, Marcello), New York City (Don Giovanni), Houston Grand Opera (Sharpless, Posa, End of the Affair), Santa Fe (Sharpless). He sang Caligula in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2016.

In addition Peter has championed new and 20th Century works including operas by Henze (Prinz vom Homburg), Dallapiccola ( Il Prigioniero), Jonathan Harvey ( Inquest of Love), David Blake (The Plumbers Gift), Detlev Glanert (Caligula), Jake Heggie (End of the Affair) and Brett Dean (Bliss).

Peter has had a substantial career in the world of song and concert repertoire and has performed in in the great halls of the world including Wigmore, Chatelet, Aix en Provence, London South Bank, Bridgewater Hall, Madrid, Paris Garnier, Paris Radio France, Aldeburgh, Amsteram Concertgebouw, Iceland, Finland, San Paulo, Brazil and Moscow, alongside pianists like Julius Drake, Graham Johnson, Piers Lane and Malcolm Martineau.

He has sung with many notable conductors such as John Adams, Sir Colin Davis, Gustavo Dudamel, Sir Mark Elder, Daniele Gatti, Richard Hickox, Elgar Howarth, James Levine, Sir Antony Pappano, Sir Simon Rattle, Carlo Rizzi, Gennady Rozhdestvensky Edo de Waart, Mark Wigglesworth and Simone Young.

Peter has recorded extensively for EMI, Telarc, Virgin Classics, Hyperion, LSO and ABC Classics.

He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Melbourne and an Order of Australia AO for his services to Music in 2015.

Eleanor Greenwood is a graduate of Londons Royal Academy of Music Opera School and Australian National University School of Music, and first prize winner of the McDonalds Operatic Aria. She made her professional debut in Ireland at the Opera Festival in Wexford. In the UK and Ireland Eleanor sang for various companies including Grange Park Opera and Dorset Opera Festival, and returned to Wexford Festival Opera in various roles. 

 A recent Richard Divall Emerging Artist, Eleanor currently holds the position of Associate Artist with Melbourne Opera. She recently made her debut in the role of Sieglinde in Wagners Die Walkre. A diverse soprano, other recent roles include Ortlinde in Die Walkre, Dama in Verdis Macbeth and Annio in Mozarts La clemenza di Tito (with National Opera) directed by Peter Coleman-Wright and conducted by Dane Lam. 

Eleanor has sung the soprano solos in HandelsMessiah at Brisbane City Hall and Mozarts Requiemat St Andrews Cathedral. Concerts include Opera by the Lake (Childers), Music on Sundays (QSO), Opera in the Paddock (Armidale), Mozart by Moonlight (Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne), Opera in the Park (Boroondara). Eleanor has toured Chinese Poly Theatres in opera and concert productions.

In 2022, Eleanor joins the Young Artist Program at Opera Queensland (OQ) singing as a soprano. Most recently, she performed in the QPAC Concert Hall season of OQs The Sopranos with Queensland Symphony Orchestra, and toured with the production throughout Queensland in May.

Hannah is a Canberra based soprano whose voice is soaringly beautiful (Stage Whispers). With a passion for all things voice, Hannah holds both a Bachelor of Music (2016) from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music & a Masters of Speech Pathology (2018) from the University of Melbourne.

Despite the ups and downs thrown at the world by COVID-19 since 2020, Hannah has been fortunate to continue performing, in particular with Australias newest opera company - National Opera. Hannah performed at their launch in 2020, and was subsequently a member of the chorus for their inaugural production of Mozarts La Clamenza di Tito, performed the role of First Lady in their pocket opera version of Mozarts The Magic Flute, and was scheduled to perform The singer and join the ensemble in their production of Puccinis La Rondine before it was cancelled.

In 2019, Hannah made her role debut as Lauretta in Canberra Operas Gianni Schicchi, performing with exquisite charm (Canberra Critics Circle). 2019 also saw Hannah perform as a featured soloist and ensemble member in Canberras Opera by Candlelight, in Australian Music Events Opera in the Alps and Opera in the Market and as a featured artist at various performances for Canberra Opera. She also joined the Melbourne Opera chorus for their production of Wagners The Flying Dutchman.

Previously, Hannah was also a member of Opera Scholars Australia (2017-2019) where she received the Jamie and Prue Parish Scholarship and a special commendation as a semi-finalist for the 2018-19 Opera Scholar of the Year. During her time with the program, Hannah performed at numerous private functions, lunchtime concerts as part of the Beechworth Summer School, and also had the privilege to perform in masterclasses and workshops with Yvonne Kenny AM, Tiffany Speight, and John Bolton-Wood. Other performance highlights also include: First Knabe in scenes from Die Zauberflte directed by Beverley Blankenship (2016), the MCM Daphnis et Chloe project (2016), and adopting the roles of midwife/consoler in the Play of Herod with the Victorian Youth Opera (2014).

Hannah is looking forward to what the next years bring in the UK; continuing to combine her passions for both knowledge and voice.

Emma Mauch, Canberra born and based soprano, is a graduate from the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts where she performed the roles of Helena in Brittens A Midsummer Night's Dream, Madame Lidoine in Poulencs Les Dialogues Des Carmelites and Angela in the Australian opera Love Burns by Graeme Koehne. Emma has performed in numerous operatic productions within Australia and the United Kingdom.

Her productions with the West Australian Opera chorus include, Peter Grimes, Carmen, Madama Butterfly and Aida. In 2013 she had the pleasure of working with Grange Park Opera, Hampshire in their summer festival productions of I Puritani and Onegin. Since returning to Australia, Emma has worked with Opera Australia in their productions of Madama Butterfly (2015) and Carmen (2017) She is thrilled to be working with National Opera in her home town.
