The Tony Award® nominated, global smash-hit musical THE ADDAMS FAMILY MUSICAL lands in Sydney from 3 October at TEATRO at the Italian Forum.

Join the kookiest family on the planet, Morticia, Gomez their children Wednesday and Pugsley, along with Uncle Fester, Lurch and someone who doesn’t need a hand, Thing!

The spectacular musical comedy from Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice (writers of the multi award-winning hit musical Jersey Boys), with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, based on the characters created by Charles Addams.

Wednesday Addams the ultimate princess of darkness has a secret crush with a “normal” boy.  The stage is set for a night that will change the family forever as their very different families meet for the first time.

Set to an extraordinary original score, THE ADDAMS FAMILY is a musical theatre sensation for the entire family.

This fully staged production, brought to life by Australia’s newest musical theatre stars from the acclaimed THEatreBRIDGE program.

Nathan M. Wright: A Visionary in Choreography and Creative Direction

Nathan M. Wright is an internationally celebrated choreographer, creative director, and producer whose illustrious career spans theatre, film, television, and world-class events. With an exceptional portfolio of work, Nathan is known for his ability to create visually compelling stories through movement, captivating audiences around the globe.

Choreography for Theatre

Nathan’s impact on theatre is unparalleled, with credits that span some of the most iconic productions worldwide. His work on The Rocky Horror Show has defined the show’s legacy for over a decade, with the UK Tour running from 2013 to 2023, as well as the 50th Anniversary Production in London’s West End, Paris and global stagings in Australia and South Africa.

In the UK, Nathan’s choreographed productions such as Crazy for You (Watermill Theatre and UK Tour), High Society (The Old Vic, nominated for WhatsOnStage and Broadway World Awards), and Xanadu (Southwark Playhouse, multiple Broadway World nominations). His other UK credits include Fing’s Ain’t Wot They Used T’Be (Stratford East), The Tailor-Made Man (Arts Theatre, Broadway World nomination), and Sweet Smell of Success (Arcola Theatre, WhatsOnStage nomination).

Nathan has also contributed to workshops and premieres, including Sugar, Sugar (Cochrane Entertainment), San Xing Dui – The Musical (Beijing One World), and Aspects of Love (Hayes Theatre). 

In Australia, Nathan has choreographed include Xanadu Director/Choreographer (Hayes Theatre), Guys and Dolls (TPC), Avenue Q (Arts Asia Pacific, Helpmann and Green Room nominations), Gutenberg! The Musical (Neil Gooding Productions, Helpmann nomination), and Breast Wishes (Bien Etre Productions). Not Quite Out of the Woods and Pennies from Kevin (Sydney Theatre Company), The 50th Anniversary of The Rocky Horror Show (Crossroads and Trafalgar Entertainment), and other productions for Theatre Bridge.

Choreography for Events

Nathan’s creative vision has brought to life major live events, including the Luna Park Dream Circus (Artists in Motion) and DGDA Immersive Launch in Saudi Arabia (The OpenLab). He was Director of Parade and Protocol for the 2022 Commonwealth Games Birmingham and choreographed the Dubai World Expo 2021 (Artists in Motion).

He has directed choreography for ceremonies on a global scale, including the 48th National Day Celebrations in Abu Dhabi, the 2018 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony (Jack Morton Worldwide), the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku (Artistic Director), Azerbaijan (Betty Productions), and the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi – Opening Ceremony (Five Currents).

Mass Choreography

Nathan’s expertise in mass choreography has led to unforgettable spectacles such as the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the 2015 Pacific Games Opening Ceremony (Makoda Productions), and Oman’s National Day celebrations. He directed the finale segment for the 2010 Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony in Vancouver (David Atkins Enterprises) and contributed to the 2010 Commonwealth Games Delhi Handover Ceremony.

Choreography for Film and Television

Nathan has made significant contributions to film and television, collaborating with Baz Luhrmann on Elvis and The Great Gatsby (Associate Choreographer) and performing as the “Wicked Faced Boy” in Moulin Rouge. He was also a motion capture artist on the Oscar-winning Happy Feet and a Dance Casting Associate for Better Man (Michael Gracey).

His television credits include BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, So You Think You Can Dance Australia, and ITV’s Breathless. He has also choreographed for the Helpmann Awards and the Sydney and Melbourne Comedy Festivals.

Awards and Recognition

Nathan’s work has been recognised with nominations for Broadway World, WhatsOnStage, Helpmann, and Green Room Awards for Best Choreography. Notable nominations include Xanadu (Broadway World, 2016), High Society (WhatsOnStage and Broadway World, 2015), and Avenue Q (Helpmann and Green Room, 2010).
