Emily has been singing since the age of eight, when she joined Waratah Girls' Choir, and acting since the age of 13, when she started taking drama classes with Young People's Theatre, Newcastle. With WGC, she competed in the Kathuamixw choral eisteddfod in Powell River, British Columbia in 2006, and performed Vivaldi's Gloria as part of a massed choir in Carnegie Hall in New York City in 2007. While she is yet to act in such a prestigious venue, she has nonetheless had a fantastic time performing in several ANU musicals over the last few years, including The Threepenny Opera (2008), Grease (2010), Chicago (2011) and Guys & Dolls (2012). She also sings with Kaleidoscope Productions in Queanbeyan and played the role of Abigail in their production of The Crucible last year. This is her first production with QP and she certainly hopes it will not be the last.
