Sujaan was born in Canberra and has Indian, English and Scottish ancestry. He is in Year 6 and loves acting, dancing, singing and playing the drums as well as a number of other instruments. In 2021 Sujaan was selected for an Opera Australia production of Carmen at the Canberra Theatre as part of Canberra Childrens Choir, run by Tobias Cole. He has been dancing in Hip Hop and Street Dance styles at Project Beats Dance Studio since 2019 and is part of the One For All junior dance crew, which in July 2022 came first in the Junior Division at the Australian Dance Crew Championships in Sydney. He has also performed Hip Hop in numerous public showcases, including the Canberra Street Dance Festival and other community events.
Sujaan has been part of the Turner Trebles choir since 2018, performing at the Canberra International Music Festival, Step Into The Limelight festival and being invited to participate in a singing workshop with Spinifex Gum and the Cat Empires Felix Riebl in 2019. He has also learned to sing in the South Indian Carnatic style since a young age, performing in concerts in Sydney and online.
Sujaan plays percussion as part of the Turner School band and is in the schools djembe (traditional African drumming) group which performed at the Haig Park Village Markets in 2022. Sujaan has played piano since a very young age, having been taught by Caleb Campbell from the age of seven. In 2019 he completed the Grade 1 ABRSM Piano Exam, receiving the highest score of any ACT student. He enjoys playing classical, contemporary and jazz improvisation styles and is now studying for Grade 4 ABRSM exam. He also loves composing music for the piano and drums as well as creating electronic music.
Outside of the performing arts, Sujaan has taken on a number of leadership responsibilities, being elected his schools Prime Minister for the 2022 school
