Rochelle Whyte
ACT
Rochelle works as a director, dramaturge and actor. A graduate of both the Victorian College of the Arts in Directing and of the University of Western Sydney (Theatre Nepean) in Performance, Rochelle has worked for the Sydney Theatre Company, the Melbourne Theatre Company, the Griffin Theatre Company, the Malthouse Theatre, Chamber Made Opera, The Street Theatre in Canberra, La Mama, Playwriting Australia, World Interplay, Theatre Nepean -University of Western Sydney, School or Arts and Media- University of NSW, Tim Woods Entertainment, the Darlinghurst Theatre, Red Stitch Actors Theatre, Harlos Productions, The New Theatre, the Patrick White Playwrights Awards as well as with independent artists.
Rochelle received a Greenroom Award nomination for Best Direction and Best Production for Antidote (nominated for seven Greenroom Awards categories and further developed through the STC). She has performed in numerous productions for Opera Australia (then the Australian Opera) including Fiddler on the Roof, Voss, Werther, Tristan and Isolde, Cavaleria Rusticana, Pagliaci, and Turandot during her time as an original member of the Australian Opera's Children's Chorus.
