Free-Rain Theatre Company has been in existence since 1995, we were Theatre Company in Residence at the Currong Theatre, Gorman House Arts Centre under the auspices of nationally renowned Jigsaw Theatre Company in 1999.

Being based in the Courtyard Studio at the Canberra Theatre Centre is being in the centre of where it is all happening the hub of the performing arts in Canberra. Since 2009, Free-Rain also diversified and has also performed two musical productions and one play at The Q the Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre.

Free-Rain is one of Canberras premier theatre companies. It is one of the most highly respected companies with a dynamic, challenging and innovative approach to theatre and a high quality product. We provide professional tutelage through our mentoring and teaching of young performing artists and production personnel in all aspects of theatre practice.

We enjoy an excellent working relationship with the Canberra Theatre Centre Administrative and Technical Staff.  Their support over the past 10 years has greatly enhanced our standing in the Canberra theatre community.

Free-Rain commences its inaugural Childrens theatre program Free-Rain Frolics in 2008. This program also continues Free-Rains highly successful mentoring program.

Even if you have no experience at all it does not matter we have people who are willing to teach you.
