The meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn stumbles across a new breed of plant he names "Audrey II" - after his co-worker crush. This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the down and out Krelborn as long as he keeps feeding it blood! Over time, though, Seymour discovers Audrey II's out of this world origins and intent towards global domination!

SEYMOUR KRELBORN (A2-G4) 25-35 Down on his luck but making the most of the little he has, Seymour is a genuine, wellmeaning man. Though often taken for granted because of his clumsy ways and poor social skills, Seymour aspires for more in life.
AUDREY - (G#3 - D5) 25-35 The secret love of Seymour's life. Despite her good looks and a sweet demeanour, Audrey has poor sense of self-worth. Like Seymour, Audrey aspires for a better life which seems unobtainable.
Mr MUSHNIK - (G2-F4) 50-65 A long-time resident of Skid Row, Mushnik has seen the neighbourhood go from bad to worse. The seasoned owner of the failing East Side flower shop he is profit-driven, greedy, and manipulative.
ORIN SCRIVELLO - (G2-G4) 30-45 An egotistical, dentist with a passion for leather and sadistic tendencies, Orin is Audreys abusive boyfriend and the foil of Seymour. For this production the actor playing Orin will also be playing multiple other bit parts throughout the show. This role would be particularly suited to comedic character actors.
THE PLANT (AUDREY 2) - (G2-G4) 20-50 An actor/vocalist located offstage. An intergalactic, carnivorous plant with plans for world domination, so long as it can find some patsies to help it. The voice is that of a conniving, street-smart villain. The role of Audrey 2 is open to all auditionees regardless of age, ethnicity and gender.
CRYSTAL, RONNETTE and CHIFFON - (Ab3-F5) 18-25 Crystal, Ronnette and Chiffon are the Greek Chorus for the show. Young, street wise and full of youthful bravado. These young women know what little prospects lay ahead of them, so intend to make the most of their youth here and now. These roles would be suited for strong dancers.
The performance age ranges of the characters are indicative only and should not limit actors from auditioning if they fall outside these suggested age brackets. However, please note, due to the nature of the show and roles, the above characters are limited to performers 18 years and older as of 1 July 2024.
ADDITIONAL ENSEMBLE We are also seeking a small number of ensemble members who will be puppeteers, pit singers, understudies and occasionally extras as required. Performers who are over 16 years of age as of 1 July 2024 will be considered for these roles
