Getting To Know... The Sound of Music
Perform Australia presents

9 Sep 2017 to 10 Sep 2017

Getting to know... The Sound of Music is presented by Canberra Academy of Dramatic Art.

Based on Rodgers and Hammerstein's world-renowned musical, The Sound of Music, this adaptation is specially designed to be performed by young people.  In this work, students between the ages of 9 and 15 play all the roles.

It's the story of Maria, a governess who is sent by a convent to work with the von Trapp family in Austria. She finds herself face-to-face with seven children who need love and care. Head of the household is Captain von Trapp, a widower, naval officer and loyal Austrian who is being pressured to submit to the will of the occupying Nazi forces.

Maria brings music back into the household and the family form their very own vocal ensemble. This is just the beginning of their adventure...

Featuring classics like "My Favourite Things", "Edelweiss" and "Climb Every Mountain", this musical production is sure to entertain.
