The Wolves, by Sarah DeLappe

16 Aug 2023 to 18 Aug 2023

Narrabundah College Drama presents The Wolves by Sarah DeLappe.

Left quad. Right quad. Lunge. A girls indoor soccer team warms up.

Known only by their jersey numbers, nine teenagers engage in big conversations from the safety of their small suburban stretch circle. The captain #25 is desperately trying to keep the team together. #46 is new and still working out where she fits. #00 isn't talking. Lurking beneath the surface of conversations about friends, brothers, lovers, soccer, and school, the team uncovers profound explorations of feminism, social action, empathy, acceptance, and grief.

Funny, heartwarming and brimming with life, The Wolves is a tribute to the strength and meaning found in the connections forged by these young women. As they stand together, they resist the violence, distrust, and confusion that lurks beyond the astroturf. Running non-stop for 90 minutes, prepare to be immersed in the lives of these young warriors as they navigate big questions and wage tiny battles. An exhilarating and thought-provoking play, The Wolves will challenge your perceptions, tug at your heartstrings, and leave you with a renewed appreciation for the bonds that shape our lives. Book your tickets now and experience the raw and unyielding power of these remarkable young soccer players.

An Amateur Production By Arrangement with ORiGiN™ Theatrical, on behalf of Samuel French Inc. - A Concord Theatricals Company.

Finalist for the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
