Janet TweedieJanet Tweedie
ACT
Janet returned to the stage, after a 21 year break, as a Fairy (third from the left, yellow) in Queanbeyan Player's production of Iolanthe in 2012. She was absolutely thrilled that another 21 years didn't go by before she was able to tread the boards again and in the second half of 2012 found herself playing the part of Meg Brockie in QP's Brigadoon, not wearing yellow and with a couple of rollicking numbers and some rather good fun in the bothy! Janet's previous theatrical experience is all too long ago to properly remember but Oklahoma and My Fair Lady come to mind, along with some cabaret stuff (some of it on wine boats) and lots of straight theatre. Janet studied acting in Perth with the Chimera Acting School and had a lovely old singing teacher called Arthur who wouldn't let her sing in anything but English. Janet now studies singing with the very lovely (but not old) Jenni Reeves and is allowed (sometimes) to sing in Italian. Janet is very happy to playing 'fourth from the left, colour as yet unknown, chorus member' in the wonderful Annie Get Your Gun. Looking forward to wearing cowboy boots - damn, should have kept those white ones from 1982.......
