Canberra Opera Inc is a registered charity, not for profit  opera company providing specialised training and opera performance experience for singers, musicians and production staff. It's principal aims are:

• To assist singers who wish to pursue a career in opera with the training and performance experience necessary for further professional engagements with opera companies
• To provide a strong opera chorus and build a community of people interested in opera
• To bring opera to a wider audience by providing the Canberra region with entertaining and affordable opera productions

Each year Canberra Opera performs one major production and other concerts and events including a Recital Series to support the development of young singers.
