Hamish McConchie
ACT, Canberra
Age : 34
Occupation : Lighting Designer/Technical Manager
From an early age Hamish was fascinated by theatrical and musical productions. It was, however, the possibilities of lighting that really captured his passion. He finds the design and planning stages of a production just as enjoyable as the in-theatre work. Hamish continually relishes the challenge of applying his skills with technology to simultaneously transform a venue and transport an audience.
As the venue technician for The Q, Hamish has been involved in shows here since 2013. Previously he has been the lighting designer for I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change with Queanbeyan City Council, Return to the Forbidden Planet for Queanbeyan Players in 2013 as well as Tale of Two Cities with Queanbeyan City Council and Cabaret with Canberra Philharmonic in 2014. Outside of the theatre he is also known for working on everything that requires a lighting rig, from Dance Parties, to Concerts and Gala Dinners.
He has immensely enjoyed his involvement with this production of Sunset Boulevard; helping to bring the Directors vision to life.
