At the very heart of our company is a firm belief that theatre should promote a democracy of ideas. We want our audiences to discover and experience the power and possibilities of live theatre and for each of our productions to inspire reflection and dialogue about the world in which we live.

Every Darlinghurst Theatre Company production brings together a new team of outstanding artists, who present their unique artistic vision and perspectives on theatre and life. We offer artists the freedom to stage their own work and tell the stories they want to tell. This allows us to create a diverse season of innovative and exceptional theatre, and ultimately a fresh experience for our patrons each and every visit.

Formed in 2001, Darlinghurst Theatre Company has established itself as a prominent theatre company in Sydney, staging over 200 professional co-operative productions in collaboration with more than 1000 individual artists. In November 2013 we moved into our brand new home, the Eternity Playhouse. This 126 year old heritage listed building was recently restored and renovated by the City of Sydney into a 200 seat state-of-the-art theatre. The larger and more prominent venue will allow us to develop an exemplary and more sustainable theatre platform in support of more than 100 artists every year. The Eternity Playhouse is one of the most beautiful and unique theatres in Australia and we look forward to sharing it with our audiences, artists and the community for many years to come.
