Child Players ACT is a family-run children’s community theatre group. Our main program is the Child Play program developed by BJ Anyos, our Artistic Director. This program gives children aged 10-16 a unique opportunity to learn all aspects of theatre with training provided in both acting and back-stage skills.
This program has been running since 2005 with a major production in the July or October school holidays each year.
We also run a two-week program in January each year which enables children aged 8-16 to develop their acting skills and take part in a full-scale theatre production.
We are based in Downer with rehearsals held at the Downer Community Centre. Our January shows are held in Canberra Rep’s Theatre 3 and the July and October productions at the theatre@bcs in the Belconnen Community Centre.
Our programs are very popular and fill quickly, especially the January program.
