School of Rock
Dramatic Productions presents
School of Rock

7 Oct 2022 to 22 Oct 2022

Due to circumstances beyond our control, Max Gambale will not be playing the role of Dewey Finn for the following performances; Wednesday 12th October, Friday 14th October, Saturday 15th October 7:30pm. Instead the role of Dewey will be played by Zach Raffan.

Based on the hit film, School of Rock the Musical follows failed rock star wannabe, Dewey Finn. Forced to come up with some rent money or be kicked to the street, Dewey poses as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school to earn some quick cash. But when he discovers the students are also highly talented musicians, Dewey hatches a plan to turn the uptight students into guitar-thrashing, bass-thumping, drum-smashing rockers and enter them in the Battle of the Bands! But can he do it without the school, parents or his housemates finding out?

This production of School of Rock has two casts - the SMALL and the TALL. Please check session details to see which cast is performing.

Creatives Cast Zach Raffan Zach Raffan
Dewey Finn

During school hours, Zach can be found teaching drama and music full-time at Lyneham High School but when the school bell rings, Zachs love of acting and music comes out and he takes to the stage. Some of his most notable acting roles were in Wait Until Dark (Canberra Rep 2017), High Fidelity (Phoenix Players 2015), Magic Flute (Carl Rafferty 2013), and Pool No Water (Everyman Theater 2012).

Although seen rocking out on a guitar during the show, Zach is usually found with a trumpet in his hand, having played in the orchestra for multiple shows.  Some of these include Legally Blonde (Free Rain 2014), Into The Woods (Dramatic Productions 2015), Company (Everyman Theater 2015), Sweeney Todd (Dramatic Productions 2017), 42nd Street (Free Rain 2018)and West Side Story (Canberra Theater 2019)

You can catch his dulcet trumpet tones currently in the Canberra Symphony Orchestra, and when he leads his 1920s jazz band, The Zackerbilks.
